Jeff has been advocating for and providing therapeutic services to children, adolescents, young adults and their families throughout his 26 year career. He has a master’s degree in clinical psychology and is a certified trauma specialist
(National Institute of Trauma and Loss in Children) and a certified educational planner (American Institute of Certified Educational Planners). More information about the standards that a certified educational planner must meet and the

Jeff has the unique experience of having been the Director of Admissions for nine years for a therapeutic boarding
school that served at-risk teens and young adults that drew students nationally and internationally. He led and
developed the admissions office, helped launch and market several new programs and helped lead an accreditation
and re-branding initiative. He speaks regularly at conferences and to parent groups and has an extensive, national
network of professionals, schools and treatment providers to serve as resources for families in need. Jeff has traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada, visiting schools and programs meeting the needs of children, adolescents and young adults. He is a regular attender at both domestic and international professional conferences to stay abreast of best practices in the industry and ensure personal knowledge of the best programs in the country. Jeff developed and copyrighted a therapeutic program/school checklist for parents to use to determine the quality and legitimacy of therapeutic schools and programs. Jeff has extensive clinical leadership experience in a variety of residential settings and has worked with youth with a variety of mental health, developmental, substance use and behavioral issues. He has worked as a program development and program enhancement consultant to therapeutic schools and programs. He has specific clinical expertise in anger management (developed and copyrighted an Anger Management Psycho-Educational Curriculum for at-risk Teens) and Grief & Loss. Jeff is frequently an invited speaker and faciliator for parent groups and as well as staff trainer for organizations on a variety of topics related to children, adolescents and young adults.
Jeff also serves as a consultant for the Mental Health Association, where for over 20 years he has worked in support of several programs serving families and children in crisis as well as founded and still leads a popular social skill building youth group for adolescents with social skill deficits. Jeff also volunteers his time for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, serving as a trainer for MDA’s extraordinary summer camping program and faciliator for their young adult network.
Jeff also has two certified therapy dogs, Jack and Jake, which he uses in programs and with clients when appropriate. Therapy dogs can help in many ways but they are especially helpful with those suffering and dealing with trauma and social anxiety. See picture below.
